Guidelines for distance staff and students wishing to send in a digital photo to receive a U Card are as follows:
- Mail an individual digital photo via CD to the following address: U Card Office, Campus Safety and Security, 3851 Campus Road Stop 9043, Grand Forks ND 58202
OR
Specifications of the image include:
.jpg format
File name should be current EMPL/User ID number or Person’s name
8-bit color
Range of width between 270 - 420 pixels
7 width by 8 height ratio
Photo must be taken against a WHITE background
Photo must be in portrait format to include very top of shoulders and up
Photo must NOT include hats or sunglasses
- A second file should also be sent with the image of a scanned copy of the cardholder's government issued photo ID for verification purposes and old ID card if available. Photo copies will also be accepted.
- For Staff only, if a scanned image of the government issued photo ID is not available, the employee's direct supervisor or director of the department must sign off in agreement that a government photo has been viewed by a higher university official
- Also include: full legal name, date of birth, new EMPL/User ID number, and an address where the U Card can be mailed to once completed (Mailing within the United States and Canada only).
- The U Card Manager or Assistant Manager will then adjust or modify images if needed prior to importing to the video imaging software.
- All persons receiving the U Card through a digital process are subject to the terms and conditions of the U Card which can be found on this website.
Distance students and staff employed in locations outside Grand Forks are often required to present University ID's for employment or library services.
